Space Pioneers Honored as Astronauts

Bob
White recently attended an event at Dryden Flight Research Center
at Edwards AFB, California to help honor the civilian X-15 pilots
who attained astronaut status.

Pictured are the 4 X-15 pilots who attended.
From left to right Bob White, Bill Dana, Neil Armstrong, and Joe Engle.
Bob received his wings through the USAF, as did Joe Engle. Neil Armstrong
of course, when he flew on his first mission into space with NASA
during the Gemini 8 flight.
